The 23rd National Book Expo was held in Haikou, Hainan province, April 19, 2013.

This marks the first time a Taiwan book booth was set up at a Chinese National Book Expo. Hainan and Taiwan share many cultural similarities, and recent open tourism policies as well as frequent direct flights between the two islands have brought them even closer.
