Starting on January 13, a new round of government-issued consumption vouchers totaling RMB 5.8 million (USD 862,000) will be released via the UnionPay app. Of these, RMB 3.23 million will be earmarked for duty-free consumption; RMB 1 million will be reserved for retail and catering consumption in Longhua District; RMB 1.05 million will be dedicated for retail and catering consumption coupons in Qiongshan District; and RMB 520,000 will be earmarked for retail consumption in Xiuying District.

This round of duty-free consumption vouchers is divided into offline and online with the online consumption vouchers are limited to RMB 69 off on purchases of RMB 1,000, while the offline duty-free vouchers are divided into four categories: RMB 508 off on purchases of RMB 5,000 or more, RMB 808 off on purchases of RMB 8,000 or more, RMB 1,008 off on purchases of RMB 10,000 or more, and RMB 1,208 off on purchases of RMB 12,000 or more. Provided on a first-come, first-serve basis via the UnionPay app, residents and tourists alike can pick up vouchers daily between 10:00 and 23:00 from January 17 to January 31 at duty-free sales locations.

From January 13 to January 15, Haikou's Longhua District will hold a New Year’s Market in the two Youyi(means “Friendship”) Malls - Sunshine City and Nanhai City. The Longhua District Bureau of Commerce will distribute RMB 1 million yuan of consumption vouchers for New Year's goods at this time. Longhua's consumption vouchers are divided into retail, catering, and snack streets. Residents using the UnionPay app will be able to pick up vouchers daily between 10:00 and 23:00 from January 13 to January 20.

The “Qiongshan Good Goods New Year’s Fair” was launched on January 10 and will continue until January 21. To bring a more affordable consumption experience to residents and tourists alike, this round of Qiongshan District’s Special Consumption Vouchers is divided into retail and catering. Residents using the UnionPay app will be able to pick up vouchers daily between 10:00 and 23:00 from January 13 to January 20.

From January 13 to January 19, Haikou's Xiuying District will hold the 2023 Xiuying New Year Shopping Festival at Wanda Plaza. The district will issue RMB 520,000 special retail consumption vouchers during the festival. Residents using the UnionPay app will be able to pick up vouchers daily between 10:00 and 23:00 from January 13 to January 20.

Please be aware that the duty-free consumption vouchers will only be valid within 2 days from the date of receipt. Longhua and Qiongshan district's vouchers will have a 3-day validity period with the validity period of vouchers received on. Xiuying District’s vouchers also have a 3 day validity period.
