Despite the adverse impact brought by the recent Covid-19 pandemic, Jiangdong New Area — one of the eleven key industrial parks of China’s southern Hainan Province, is fast-tracking the development of many major projects in the area. Currently, over 200 projects have been begun there, and more than 70 are now complete, keeping the pace of the schedule set for the area in the first three quarters of the year. From January to September, Jiangdong made a total investment of 26.88 billion yuan (about $3.71 billion) in fixed assets in the area, a year-on-year increase of 29%.
