Italian eyewear company Safilo Group has teamed up with Hainan Duty Free and DFS to launch a high-profile promotion for Gucci sunglasses at Haikou Meilan International Airport.
The pop-up promotion is dedicated to the Gucci Bamboo sunglasses collection, whose advertising campaign stars Chinese actress Li Bing Bing and American actor and director James Franco.
Bamboo is one of Gucci’s most distinctive design motifs, used by the fashion house’s Florentine artisans since 1947 on a variety of products including handbags, ready-to-wear, jewellery, and eyewear.
Safilo Group Travel Retail Director Omar Hagi said: “The airport environment is one of the best locations for our category which is strongly confirming a double-digit growth in 2014.
